Keyboard reference

DB-WEAVE is fully usable from the keyboard. This chapter explains the most important behaviours and lists every shortcut.

Setting and clearing a binding point

Press Space to toggle the binding point at the cursor. In a colour bar, Space assigns the active colour to that thread.

The keys 19 set a binding point in the corresponding range at the cursor; 0 clears any binding point at the cursor.

Selecting

To select a region: position the cursor at one corner, hold Shift and use the cursor keys to extend the selection to the opposite corner. The selection is outlined in white and its size is shown in the status bar. Release Shift when the selection is the size you want.

To remove the selection, just move the cursor with any cursor key (without Shift).

Picking a colour

When the cursor is in a colour bar, Ctrl + Space picks the colour under the cursor as the active colour.

Faster cursor movement

Holding Ctrl while moving the cursor advances two grid units per keystroke instead of one.

Jumping between fields

Tab or Enter — move forward through the fields. Shift + Tab or Esc — move backward.

Field order:

  1. Pattern
  2. Threading
  3. Treadling
  4. Tie-up
  5. Weft colours
  6. Warp colours
  7. Reed (blade) threading

Switching ranges

Shift + 1…9 activates the corresponding range. With a region selected, Shift + Ctrl + 1 sets every binding point in the selection to range 1 (and likewise for 2–9).
